Columbia City HallFollowing Tennessee Governor Bill Lee’s Executive Order No. 22 issued on March 30th directing all Tennesseans to stay home unless engaging in essential activities, the City of Columbia is limiting operating hours at City Hall to 9am-3pm each day for non-essential departments and non-essential employees. These changes take effect April 1 through April 14, 2020 in accordance with the Governor’s Executive Order.  The City of Columbia is taking these steps in order to limit exposure to and spread of COVID-19.
“We believe it is important to adhere to the Governor’s Executive Order as much as possible, while still maintaining a fully functioning city government,” stated City Manager Tony Massey. “Citizens can count on our first-responders such as fire and police to be there when they need them. In addition, we are doing what we can to limit exposure to our employees by implementing these temporary changes.”
Further, Columbia Public Works department will temporarily suspend all curbside recycling during this same time period due to the closure of recycling centers because of COVID-19.
