Columbia Fire and Rescue Chief Ty Cobb


Fire Chief Tyler "Ty" Cobb began his fire service career with the Pulaski Fire Department and joined Columbia Fire & Rescue as a Firefighter/EMT in February of 1999. He has held the position of Firefighter (5 years), Driver (5 years) and Captain (5 years). He was promoted to the position of Assistant Fire Chief in January of 2014, and to Fire Chief on July 1, 2017. Chief Cobb received an Associate's Degree in Fire Science from Volunteer State Community College in 2003, a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Memphis in 2005 and a Master's of Science Degree from Columbia Southern University in 2012. Chief Cobb is a 2017 graduate of the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer program and credentialed through the Center for Public Safety Excellence as a Chief Fire Officer.
