Administrative

The Administrative Division of the Columbia Fire Department consists of the Chief, Assistant Fire Chief-Administration, Administrative Assistant, Community Risk Reduction Coordinator and Medical Officer.  The Administrative Division is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the department.

                                              Fire Chief Tyler "Ty" Cobb began his fire service career with Pulaski Fire Dept. and joined the Columbia Fire Dept. as a Firefighter/EMT in February of 1999.  He has held the positions of Firefighter (5 years), Driver (5 years) and Captain (5 years).  He was promoted to the position of Assistant Fire Chief  in January of 2014, and to Fire Chief on July 1, 2017.  Chief Cobb received an Associates Degree in Fire Science from Volunteer State Community College in 2003, a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Memphis in 2005 and a Masters of Science Degree from Columbia Southern University in 2012.  Chief Cobb is a 2017 graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer program.

                                              Assistant Fire Chief Nick Brown joined Columbia Fire & Rescue in November of 2002 as a Firefighter/EMT.  He has held the positions of Firefighter (8 years) Driver/Engineer (4 years) Captain (4 years), Shift B Fire Chief (1 year) and currently serves as Assistant Chief of Administration since 2018.  He is a graduate from Hampshire (1998) and has received his Associates Degree in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University in 2015.  Certifications include EMT, Hazardous Material Specialist, Trench Rescue, Confined Space, and Rope Operations.

                                            Ginger Paul Adams became Administrative Assistant for Columbia Fire & Rescue in September 2018 after working in the City Recorder’s office for 5 years.   Born and raised in Columbia, she has 35 years of office experience including time with Tennessee Farmers Mutual Insurance Company, deputy Clerk for Maury County Clerk’s Office and insurance agent/office manager for State Farm Insurance. Ginger has a son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren.

                                              LaTia Sneed began her career with Columbia Fire & Rescue in October of 2017. She graduated high school in 2011 and went on to receive a bachelors degree from MTSU in May of 2016. Immediately after receiving her bachelors degree LaTia went on to earn her EMT and advanced EMT certificates from Columbia State Community College in 2017; followed by her firefighter I & II from TFACA in April 2018. Along with being a firefighter LaTia now serves as the Community Risk Reduction Coordinator (CRRC). 
                                               
                                               
                                               
                                              Medical Officer Scott Storey

                                              Scott Storey, Critical Care Paramedic, currently serves as the Medical Officer for Columbia Fire and Rescue. Scott began his public safety career as a volunteer firefighter for the Giles County Rescue Squad in 1989. He completed EMT training in 1993, Paramedic Training in 1996 and Critical Care Paramedic in 2007. Scott has held numerous positions in EMS in Middle Tennessee throughout his career. He has served as a Field Supervisor, EMS director, Instructor/Coordinator and EMS Training Officer. Scott has also served on the Ambulance committee for the Division of EMS and was the past president of the South Central EMS Director’s Association. Scott received his Associates Degree in Communications from Martin Methodist College in Pulaski and his Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from Middle Tennessee State University.
