The Iron Bridge Road Bridge Replacement project consists of replacing the bridge along Iron Bridge Rd over Lytle Creek, just east of Fairview Park. The project is being designed by Barge Design Solutions. The new structure would be designed to accommodate automobile, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic. The City of Columbia considers this a high priority project due to safety concerns. Currently the bridge serves as a connecting feature between the downtown and bypass route Tom Hitch Parkway to the east. The bridge is seventeen feet wide and thirty-two feet in length with no shoulder, railing, or pedestrian crossing.
