Chief Cobb Employee of the Month

The City is pleased to announce Columbia Fire & Rescue Chief Ty Cobb as March Employee of the Month. Chief Cobb has advanced the department in a strategic, analytical manner. He considers all aspects when making daily vital decisions, from making equipment purchases to ensuring there is enough staff to deliver top-notch services to the City's citizens. He makes decisions based on policy to determine what is best for the City while considering the impact on Fire & Rescue. Chief Cobb obtained a Class 1 designation and renamed the department to Columbia Fire & Rescue to better describe that they not only respond to fires but also perform paramedic duties. He has completed assessments to better reorganize assignments, added a lieutenant position to help create a better career track within the department, and much more.
