Are You Interested in a Career in the Fire Service?

Columbia Fire & Rescue's Explorer Program is for young men and women who are between the ages of 14 - 20 years old interested in learning more about the fire service.The primary goal of this program is to provide young adults with the opportunity to explore a potential career in Firefighting/Emergency Medical Services and challenge them to become responsible citizens and community leaders. They will be trained in various fire service related topics and gain hands on experience applying what they have learned in a controlled environment. They will also receive leadership development and life skills training. Explorers will also be eligible to ride along with fire companies in order to learn more about what it takes to be a career firefighter!

Requirements:

- Must be between the ages of 14 and 20 years of age 

-Must have completed 8th grade

-Maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or above

-Be able to attend meetings and trainings on a monthly basis

-Be willing to assist with community related functions
