Columbia Fire & Rescue Department was honored by the Maury County Historical Society at the 2018 Awards Luncheon at Rippavilla Plantation. Chief Ty Cobb presented the award to City Council at a specially-called council meeting November 19, 2018. The award is for 150 years of service to the community, including not only emergency responses that save lives and property, but also educating the public about ways to prevent the hazards that cause the loss of life and property.
