Administrative

The Administrative Division of the Columbia Fire Department consists of the Chief, Assistant Fire Chief-Administration and two (2) Administrative Assistants. The Administrative Division is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the department.

 Fire Chief Tommy Hemphill began his career with Columbia Fire Dept. in May of 1987.  He has held the positions of Firefighter (6 years), Captain (3 years), Shift Commander (17 years) and Assistant Chief for C-shift (2 years).  He was promoted to Fire Chief in March of 2015.  Chief Hemphill received his Associates Degree in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University.
                                             
Assistant Fire Chief Tyler "Ty" Cobb began his fire service career with Pulaski Fire Dept. and joined the Columbia Fire Dept. as a Firefighter/EMT in February of 1999.  He has held the positions of Firefighter (5 years), Driver (5 years) and Captain (5 years).  He was promoted to the position of Assistant Fire Chief  in January of 2014.  Chief Cobb received an Associates Degree in Fire Science from Volunteer State Community College in 2003, a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Memphis in 2005 and a Masters of Science Degree from Columbia Southern University in 2012.

                                             Dana
Administrative Assistant Donna L Osmon joined the Columbia Fire Dept. in 2013.  She began her career with the City of Columbia in 2004, serving in the City Recorders office for 4 years and as Evidence Clerk with the Columbia Police Dept. for 5 years.  She has 35+ years in accounting and office management experience.  She is CPR certified.  Donna graduated from South Leake High School in Mississippi and obtained an Associates Degree in Human Resource Management from Ashworth College in 2016.
                                             Administrative Assistant Dana McDaniel joined the Columbia Fire Dept. in 2015.  She has 20+ years in general office experience, with the last 13 years spent working within EMA, EMS and Fire Departments in Williamson County.  She graduated from Lamar High School in Meridian Mississippi.
